My question is: Does the death of Chavez make Venezeula more or less hostile to the U.S.?

I’m also interested to see what the impact on Cuba may be.

The world can’t be rid of Chavez soon enough. He is inviting Iran into this hemisphere. Hopefully his successors will reverse that situation.

Chavez Denies Rumors of Health Setback

Posted Thursday, September 29th, 2011 at 8:30 pm

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has gone on television to dismiss rumors about his health, a day after a newspaper reported he had been rushed to a hospital with kidney failure linked to his treatment for cancer.

The televised images Thursday showed Mr. Chavez, wearing a baseball cap and a red top, tossing a softball on the grounds of the Miraflores presidential palace in Caracas. The Venezuelan leader also criticized the news media for inquiring too much about the details of his condition. President Chavez has not said what type of cancer he has.

While I don’t trust Chavez, I don’t know the basis for this report either.
Could a man with kidney failure manage to toss a baseball?

Chavez is an authoritarian prick. The faster he goes, the better. Same for all other authoritarian pricks.
